For many years, our Indian Spice was our only black tea version of what many people know as "chai." Assam tea, freshly ground cardamom, and spices combined together create this hauntingly subtle spice tea blend. Add some milk and sugar, and you could be in Calcutta awaiting the fresh teas coming down from Assam and Darjeeling. Please give it a try!

 Details: To help you make the delightful Indian beverage of chai, we created this Indian Spice. It is strong and definitely spicy, although we do not add the peppers found in many Indian chai recipes. Just add the milk and sugar you think are correct. It may also be drunk on its own.
 Dry Leaves: CTC Assam is the base for this tea, which is blended with nutmeg and cardamom. The dry leaves are a bright brown and have been cut, torn, and curled into small pellets.
 Liquor: The liquor is medium to dark brown.
 Aroma: The spices of nutmeg and cardamom come through.
 Flavors: Indian Spice tastes like a mixture of strong spices and makes a delicious chai tea.
 Caffeine Level: Caffeinated
 Body: Strong-bodied. This tea is very bold.
 Brewing Time: 4 to 5 minutes
 Brewing Temp: 212º
